Hey, adventure seekers! We’re back and buzzing with excitement after conquering the incredible Rob Roy Way – 79 miles of pure Scottish beauty! 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

So very, very fresh

For those of you who might be wondering, the Rob Roy Way is a stunning long-distance trail that spans 79 miles through the heart of Scotland. It’s named after the legendary outlaw and folk hero, Rob Roy MacGregor, and it winds its way through some of the most breathtaking landscapes you can imagine.

What makes this adventure even more special? We tackled it with our amazing 8 and 12-year-old adventurers by our side! Yes, you read that right – a family journey for the books! πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸ‘«

Here’s a quick rundown of our whirlwind adventure:

πŸ₯Ύ Day 1 – Drymen to Callander: We kicked off our journey with high spirits, taking in the mesmerizing views as we hiked from Drymen to Callander. And of course, we couldn’t resist stopping for dinner in the charming Aberfoyle! (We had fish and chips… and were accompanied by a very tame scruffy blackbird)

We were kindly given copious bags of skittles, and water top ups by the Macmillan Mighty Hike Team(lovely kind bunch), who were packing up after a long day (our paths crossed as we walked past Aberfoyle – towards Callander). More on this later…

πŸ₯Ύ Day 2 – Callander to Strathyre: The adventure continued as we made our way to Strathyre, soaking in the serene surroundings and enjoying every step of the way.

πŸ₯Ύ Day 3 – Strathyre to Killin: The trail had us spellbound as we journeyed from Strathyre to the picturesque village of Killin. Scotland’s beauty never ceases to amaze!

πŸ₯Ύ Day 4 – Killin to Loch Tay (Halfway Point): A milestone day as we reached the halfway point at Loch Tay. The views were simply mind-blowing, and we couldn’t help but marvel at the wonders of nature.

πŸ₯Ύ Day 5 – Loch Tay to Aberfeldy: As we continued our adventure, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment as we trekked from Loch Tay to Aberfeldy. Every step brought us closer to the finish line.

πŸ₯Ύ Day 6 – Aberfeldy to Pitlochry: The final leg of our journey took us from Aberfeldy to the charming town of Pitlochry. With tired legs but joyful hearts, we completed our epic Rob Roy Way adventure!

This journey taught us so much – about the beauty of nature, the importance of resilience, and the incredible bond that forms when you tackle an adventure as a family. We hope our little adventurers carry these memories in their hearts forever. πŸ’š
